Christmas is quickly approaching!!! Today, mama Lucy and I are going to show you “how to” set up an easy, but intimate table setting to keep the Holiday spirit alive. The goal is to keep it intimate.
The Perfect Christmas Setting
If you are planning an intimate gathering just like me, here are some of my favorite tips that will help you curate the perfect Christmas table setting.
- Pick a theme
Your theme will help guide you when you’re out shopping for decors. Since we are keeping it intimate we think a romantic vibe will be perfect for Christmas. I chose this so we can fully appreciate not only food on the table but also each other’s presence.
- Candles
And since we’re going for a romantic vibe, there’s nothing more beautiful than having some candles on the table. Is there a scent that instantly makes you feel festive, one whiff it can bring back a thousand memories? For me, it’s the scent of mint, it instantly brings back some happy feels we have during our previous Christmases at home!
- Floral Centerpiece
The price of fresh flowers during the Christmas season has always made me roll my eyes. Luckily, there’s a new flower trend that’s been taking over table settings: dried flowers. Don’t underestimate the power of dried flowers! They are officially back from the dead and now on my table. A Christmas table isn’t complete without a floral centerpiece to tie in all the elements together.
- Wine/Champagne Glass
Tis the season to wine! Need I say more? I don’t think I know any household that doesn’t serve any wine during Christmas. So if you’re planning to bring out some bubbly, make sure you have the right glassware for it.
- Drinking Glass
Even if your guest thinks it’s wine o’clock the entire evening, make sure you add a drinking glass! You always want to keep your guests hydrated, after all. As a rule of thumb, water glass belongs to the plate’s right side just above the main dining knife.
- Favorite Dinner Plates
Set a keyphrase in order to calculate your SEO score
Sometimes it just takes your favorite tableware to cheer you up! So I decided, what better season to use them than this Christmas. If you have some favorite plates ( and I know you do!) that you’ve been keeping and left to collect dust, it’s time to bring them out. Show off your personality with your treasured table during the Christmas feast!
- Charcuterie Board
Last but not the least! A charcuterie board on the Christmas table is the icing or rather cheese on top, and who doesn’t love a cheeseboard? Having this as part of your setting always brings the smiles out and the forks out! I mean, after all, calories don’t count during Christmas!

Always remember that the key to any festive holiday table is curating the right balance of accents and statement pieces. Your guest will be surely surprised when they come knocking in, or shall we say logging into Zoom? Nevertheless, preparing your Christmas table for an intimate gathering can be overwhelming, but with these tips, you’ll sure have it all laid out in no time!
