Where do I park:
Turn onto Pier Avenue from Highway 1 and pull into the Pismo State Beach-Oceano campground parking lot. The trailhead is on the east side of the Nature Center, by the lagoon on the east side. You have to park and walk a few miles to the dunes. FYI- I heard there are no dogs allow.

How long is the walk:
By feet, it took us about an hour to get to the dunes, but we did have young children with us and stopped a few times at the beach for photos. Needless to say, once you start walking you will see the dunes from a distance and you will know where/when to enter.
When is the best time to visit:
Any time is a good time, however, I highly recommended 3-4 hours before the sunset. There’s no shade at the dunes and if you bring kids too OMG you will be so exhausted from walking & the heat! Also, sunset at Pismo Beach is absolutely breath-taking and I will say it again… the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen in my life.
What should I wear:
Make sure you dress up for the Dunes! I linked some of my favorite dresses at the moment that is perfect for the beach and dunes. Have fun and tag us in your photos if you saw this post and went to the Dunes!
