Do you ever feel like you need to take a few days off to clear your head? As a momma and wife, I always put the needs of my family before my own. I’m fully in charge of the household and on top of anything and everything going on in our lives. At the same time, as a career woman, I give my 100% when it comes to my photography, I’m always on top of the commitments I make for work, set aside time for my momma gang podcast, and keep you guys in the loop of it all! Super woman much? Lol! It can definitely get exhausting and overwhelming at times… but I’m not complaining.
I love, love the hubby and my girls, and would never in a million years trade my life for anything else BUT I am a big believer in taking time off to recharge yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. So I did, I went on a well-deserved break and rented an awesome Airbnb over in Los Angeles.
Taking a break is really good for your mental health because it helps to restore your energy, lower chances of developing fatigue, and helps improve your memory.
Also, taking a break doesn’t have to be a week-long extravaganza (but I mean, if you can, why not, right?). Even for just a few days, maybe over the weekend (I personally did three days, honestly can’t stay away from my babies for way too long), it will do wonders for your overall state.
While I’ve enjoyed some short weekend trips with the hubs and the kiddos the past couple of months, I was still in full-on, hands-on momma mode, looking after everyone’s needs before my own. So this time around, I got to just slow down and appreciate the present… And I must say, it’s difficult to just chill especially when you’re used to the daily momma hustle.

The change of scenery was just wonderful. I got to lay in bed a little longer than I usually do just cause I felt like it. When I was ready to get out of bed, I enjoyed a cup of coffee at this super cozy nook by these big windows that let the sunshine pour into the room. Mornings were peaceful which I welcomed with open arms. I continued to soak in the stillness and quiet while having a delicious breakfast spread I made for myself. There was no explosion of food and toys and general mess to clean up and pick up after. I spent some time chillin’ in this beautiful clawfoot tub, complete with some fancy petals floating in the water for the ultimate spa day.
I got to clear my mind, let go of any stress that may have been starting to build without me knowing it, I was able to give myself the full attention and self-care I needed, got to rest, relax, and disconnect. I loved every minute of it!
When it was time to go back home, I felt refreshed, in great mental shape, and ready to jump right back to my life.
You know, the past year has been hard for everyone and we need to be the best version of ourselves for ourselves and our families… so let’s make sure to take good care and treat ourselves with lots of love so we can be the healthiest and happiest for our loved ones. Lots of love, you guys!
