What Being Quarantined Has Taught Me About Life

I am not here as a healthcare expert nor I am here as a doctor to give you data about this covid-19 virus that has taken lives at such a rapid pace.  However, I am here as member of society who is abiding by the law to quarantined with my family.  During this time as we shield ourselves from the world that’s right outside our windows and doors, adapting to my new reality has brought new perspective about life.

For as long as I can remember I have always lived my life on the fast lane to hit all the milestones I set for myself. I was always planning for tomorrow’s instead of living for today. The bible tells us to “not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” It’s unfortunate to admit but covid-19 hitting the world at the time it did has taught me who and what the most important things are in life. It also made me realized how fragile and unpredictable life truly is. Today, I encourage you to spend time with your family and be fully present in the moment. I also challenge you to learn something new and do something out of the ordinary like create a TikTok account (JK). On a serious note, tell the people you love that you love them and tell them again… because all I am saying is that tomorrow is never promised to anyone.

Fortunately, I haven’t gone to the point of focusing on TikTok just to kill boredom. Recently, gardening and diy-ing makes me busy and happy.

We never saw that Covid-19 was gonna affect the whole world. Well it taught me a lot of things too, mainly to save money so that we could spend it at times we need it and secondly we need to love all the people around us because we don’t know when the time will tell that they are going to leave us soon.

One thing I learnt from the lockdown is that we have to appreciate every time we spend with our friends and family.

Indeed, we should focus more on what we have and do today and stop worrying about tomorrow because it is not promised.
